NAFC Webinar- Changes in the Tax Code: How Section 199A will Impact the Trucking Industry

Please register for this recorded ATA webinar.

Webinar Description:

It's been almost a year since the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was signed into law, marking the first successful comprehensive tax reform effort in over three decades. The sweeping changes to both personal and corporate tax rates will have a major impact on the trucking industry, with most companies seeing a net benefit from the reduction in tax rates. The IRS issued proposed regulations for implementation of the new law earlier this year. One of the most complicated provisions of the new law, 199A, is the qualified business income (QBI) deduction for pass-through businesses, a popular entity for trucking companies.

Topics to be addressed include:

  • QBI overview
  • QBI and suspended losses
  • Proposed regulations
  • Aggregation rules
  • Specified Service or Businesses (SSTBs)
