New Orleans, Louisiana — Today, American Trucking Associations’ Moving and Storage Conference recognized longtime industry stalwart Larry O’Toole, founder of Gentle Giant Moving Company Inc., with the Moving & Storage Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

“Larry exemplifies leadership in the moving and storage industry through innovation, service and community involvement,” said MSI Chairman Jack Griffin, chairman and CEO of Atlas World Group. “Since 1980, Larry has elevated moving standards, demonstrating a deep commitment to the industry's growth and the well-being of its employees and communities.

“Larry's contributions have not only advanced industry operations through innovation and service excellence, but have also significantly improved the public image of the moving and storage sector through integrity and community service,” he said. “His leadership over four decades makes Larry O’Toole a deserving recipient of the MSI Lifetime Achievement Award, celebrating his lasting impact on the industry and community.”

O’Toole has been a proud member of ATA and the Massachusetts Moving Association, working with his colleagues to advance the causes of safety, workforce development and industry growth. In 2005, he started the Gentle Giant Foundation, which brings industry resources to bear to address youth development and homelessness in his community.
