Dan Cook, Principal and National Practice Leader, Transportation, at TrueNorth Companies

Dan Cook is a Principal and National Practice Leader, Transportation, at TrueNorth Companies. Dan’s responsibilities include helping clients develop risk-financing strategies related to reducing cost-of-risk on a long-term, sustainable basis that aligns with their operational objectives. Dan Leads the national primary transportation practice in addition to heading large project teams. Over the past 20 years, Dan has developed a Risk Based Due Diligence model that assigns additive or derivative value against EBIDTA. Dan leads the TrueNorth M&A Advisory Group facilitating transactions from both the buy and sell sides. Dan graduated from Ferris State University with his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Insurance.

Jeremy Goldstein, Executive Vice President of Claims, Protective Insurance Company

Jeremy Goldstein is the Executive Vice President of Claims at Protective Insurance Company, an organization that provides insurance for the transportation industry in the United States and Canada. Jeremy oversees all claims operations and leads the communications department for the company. He has previously served as the company’s General Counsel & Corporate Secretary. Prior to joining the Company in 2007, Jeremy practiced law in Chicago with an emphasis on insurance related litigation, insurance coverage, and regulatory matters. His education includes a Bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and a Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law.

Todd Gray, Pittsburg Managing Partner, Lewis Brisbois

Todd Gray is the managing partner of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office, and also a chair of the Transportation Practice of Lewis Brisbois. He is editor of the firm’s Transportations Law Update. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Kentucky; however, his practice regularly spans most of the United States.

He specializes in defending catastrophic injury cases of all types, as well as, other cases with significant exposure in multiple jurisdictions. Mr. Gray’s cases often carry eight and nine-figure exposure, and place him in notoriously unfriendly venues against some of the most successful lawyers in the country. This is not only a testament to his abilities as a trial lawyer, but also demonstrates the level of trust his clients place in him.

In recent years, Mr. Gray’s practice has focused on Transportation, including catastrophic trucking accidents, and regulatory compliance. He is choice counsel for many private trucking companies and excess insurance carriers insuring motor carriers, freight brokers, and truck owners. 

Mr. Gray is a 1995 graduate of Eastern Michigan University. As a sophomore at Eastern Michigan, he was elected to the Ypsilanti City Council and became the youngest person ever elected to public office in the state of Michigan at that time. Mr. Gray then attended the University of Toledo College Of Law, where he served as Moot Court Vice Chairman and graduated Cum Laude in 1999.
