SMC Webinar: Omada's Digital Behavior Change Program to Prevent Type 2 Diabetes

Please register for this recorded SMC webinar.

Webinar Description:

Today's drivers are busier than ever- working longer hours, taking fewer vacations, and spending more time on the road and less at home. For far too many, this means less access to exercise, healthy foods, and the very Diabetes Prevention Program that could reduce their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.

Last Fall 2018, the Healthy Truckers Association of America (HTAA) joined the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) as a national partner to expand diabetes prevention programming, specifically to diverse populations who are at highest risk of pre-diabetes. The Omada's program is an affordable lifestyle change program that can help individuals prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes and maintain their CDL. Omada's digital program can help you lose weight, reduce your risk for chronic disease, and feel better than you have in years. Funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), HTAA and AADE will bring the OMADA program to underserved populations such as professional drivers with little or no access to diabetes prevention services.

Participants will learn:

  • About prediabetes and Type 2 diabetes
  • Who is at high-risk for prediabetes
  • Omada program details
  • What to expect when joining a lifestyle change program to prevent type 2 diabetes
  • How the digital program meets the unique needs of drivers
  • How to enroll in the Omada program
