Surface Trade Numbers Show October 2010 Trade with Canada and Mexico Rose 14.9 From a Year Ago

$0Surface trade between the United States and its North American Free TradeAgreement partners Canada andMexico was 14.9 percent higher inOctober 2010 than in October 2009, reaching $70.6 billion, according to theBureau of Transportation Statistics of the U.S. Department of Transportation.The value of U.S. surfacetransportation trade with Canada and Mexicoin October 2010 remained 2.9 percent below the October 2008 level despite the2009-2010 increase. The value of U.S. surface transportation trade withCanada and Mexicorose 3.3 percent in October 2010 from September 2010. U.S.–Canada surfacetransportation trade totaled $40.7 billion in October, up 12.2 percent comparedto October 2009. U.S.–Mexico surface transportation trade totaled $29.9 billionin October up 18.8 percent compared to October 2009. In October of 2010,86.1 percent of U.S. trade byvalue with Canada andMexico moved on land.$0
