Southern States Issue Hours of Service Relief in Response to Cold Snap

1/8/2010

In response to abnormally cold temperatures in the first week of 2010, several Southern governors have issued disaster declarations granting hours of service relief to drivers hauling home heating oil and other petroleum based supplies.  Additionally, the State of Florida has also relaxed its oversize/overweight permitting requirements for drivers hauling agricultural products in an effort to protect them from frost damage.  ATA is tracking these declarations and maintaining a database online at Truckline.com.  For more information, contact Boyd Stephenson at bstephenson@trucking.org.
