Rojas Testifies Before Congress on MODERN Security Credentials Act

5/4/2011

Earlier today, May 5th, ATA Vice President Martin Rojas testified, before the House Homeland Security Committee on ATA’s concerns on the MODERN Security Credentials Act.  This legislation, which was recently introduced in the House as H.R.1690, accomplishes many of the key objectives ATA sought under the SAFE Truckers Act.  The bill establishes a risk-based approach by mandating a list of security sensitive hazardous materials that would require a fingerprint background check and makes the TWIC the background check process.
