ATA supports Partnership Efforts with Government Agencies to Combat Human Trafficking

ATA filed comments in December supporting the GSA/DOD proposed rule for Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) contractors to meet certain requirements that would aid federal agencies in their fight against human trafficking. ATA’s Government Traffic Policy Committee (GTPC) voted to support initiatives such as Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) as a means for carriers and freight brokers to meet the requirements expected in the agencies’ final rule. ATA also kept the door open for FAR contractors to adapt or devise their own program similar to TAT if desired, such as existing security requirements including those related to global supply chain security.
