ATA Thanks Image Program Supporters and Sponsors

Oct 22, 2017

Orlando, Florida – Today, American Trucking Associations took time during MCE to thank the ATA members who contribute to the federation’s image and outreach campaigns.

“Every year, America’s Road Team and Share the Road professional truck drivers share the message of safety to millions of Americans,” said ATA President and CEO Chris Spear. “This year was special, though. With hundreds of events, including several trips to the White House, these individuals represented their companies and the trucking industry while radiating professionalism and were supported by our sponsors every step of the way.”

The Share the Road highway safety program reaches millions of drivers each year to convey the message of how to safely and responsibly drive around large trucks. The program is sponsored by Mack Trucks Inc., and is supported by Hyundai Translead, OmniTracs, PSI Inflation Systems, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, Mack Leasing, TA/Petro and PrePass.

The Share the Road truck, which is used to educate the public and deliver charity and relief goods, is featured in the Share the Road instructional video. The instructional video received a Telly Award earlier this year for innovation in digital media. The Share the Road Mack Truck delivered hurricane relief loads to Houston, hosted President Donald Trump for a historic moment on the White House South Lawn, and educated thousands of students about the crucial need for highway safety.

“The Share the Road program truly soared this year, reaching a global audience and imparting safety knowledge on people from all corners of the country,” said ATA COO and Executive of Industry Affairs Elisabeth Barna. “Share the Road continues to lead in the field of highway safety and ATA is encouraged by the strong support we’ve received from the trucking industry throughout the year.”

America’s Road Team is exclusively sponsored by Volvo Trucks. This team of professional drivers shares the message of safety and essentiality of the trucking industry with millions of people each year, including students, government officials, policymakers, community leaders, and the general motoring public.

Interstate One, ATA’s image show truck, is pulled by a Volvo VNL 780 and travels the country with its mobile classroom and simulator, giving the public an up-close look at the trucking industry. It is sponsored by Volvo Trucks, and supported by Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, EpicVue, Omnitracs, TA/Petro, Voyager/US Bank and U.S. Legal Services.

Earlier this month, Interstate One served as the backdrop for President Trump’s speech to the nation on tax reform and was the focal point for his message to truck drivers. In March, Interstate One parked on the South Lawn of the White House and was one of the two trucks that made history by being first to park on the White House lawn. The program continues to grow in visibility while reaching larger audiences each year.

“Our image programs are comprised of professionals who personify what the trucking industry should strive to be,” said Barna. “The drivers who we count on to spread the message of ATA and the trucking industry, are allowed to do so by the many sponsors and contributors involved in America’s Road Team and Share the Road. We could not be more thankful for their support and look forward to continue spreading our message to new audiences.”
