ATA Truck Tonnage Index Rose 0.1% in July

American Trucking Associations’ advanced seasonally adjusted (SA) For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index increased 0.1% in July, following a 4.4% drop during June. In July, the index equaled 138.5 (2000=100), up from 138.4 in June.

ATA Concerned Reopening of GHG Phase 2 Rule Could Undermine Federal Uniformity

Today, the American Trucking Associations officials said they were concerned that by moving to reopen the second phase of its Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Fuel Efficiency Standards for Medium- and Heavy-Duty rule, the Environmental Protection Agency could be setting the stage for California to impose a de facto national standard, superseding federal rules.

Trucking Industry Revenues Were $676.2 Billion in 2016

Today, the American Trucking Associations released the latest edition of ATA American Trucking Trends 2017, the annual compendium of data about the trucking industry. Among the findings in this year’s Trends is that trucking industry revenues in 2016 were $676.2 billion.
