ATA Truck Tonnage Index Rose 7 Percent in August

Arlington, Va. — American Trucking Associations’ advanced seasonally adjusted (SA) For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index jumped 7.1% in August, following a 0.5% gain during July. In August, the index equaled 149 (2000=100), up from 139.1 in July.

Truckload Turnover Surges in Second Quarter

The turnover rate at truckload carriers surged in the second quarter of the year, a sign that the market for drivers is quickly tightening, according to American Trucking Associations Chief Economist Bob Costello.

ATA Truck Tonnage Index Rose 0.1% in July

American Trucking Associations’ advanced seasonally adjusted (SA) For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index increased 0.1% in July, following a 4.4% drop during June. In July, the index equaled 138.5 (2000=100), up from 138.4 in June.
